On January 20, 2017 the Brazilian Central Bank (“BACEN”) published its Rules No. 3.822 (“Circular nº 3.822/17”), which extended to March 31, 2017 the deadline to submit the annual periodic declaration by the Brazilian companies receiving foreign direct investment with net worth of less than R$ 250 million, established on the article 34-A, § 2º, II, of the Rule No. 3.814, dated on December 7, 2016.
Therefore, the Brazilian legal entities receiving foreign direct investment may submit the declaration related to the reference date of December 31, 2016 until March 31, 2017, and not until January 31, 2017, as previously provided.
In addition, the deadlines for submission of the quarterly declaration by the Brazilian legal entities receiving foreign direct investment with net worth equal or exceeding R$ 250 million, according to the following calendar:
• Reference date of March 31, submission until June 30;
• Reference date of June 30, submission until September 30;
• Reference date of September 30, submission until December 31;
• Reference date of December 31, submission until March 31 of the next year.
