Spanish Fund for the Internationalization of Enterprises – FIEM

This client alert is to inform our clients and business partners about the Spanish Fund for the Internationalization of Enterprises (FIEM), an instrument created in 2010 and managed by the Spanish Secretary of State for Trade, with the objective of offering financial support to the internationalization of Spanish companies.

In general terms, FIEM offers financing lines with interest rates and repayment terms more favorable than those provided by the market.

The beneficiary of the FIEM must be a Spanish company or from other nationalities (including Brazilian) as long as it is controlled by a Spanish company, which may request financial support under different modalities, including the following:

  • Financing for the export of Spanish goods and services.
  • Funding for projects carried out by Spanish companies abroad, including under Project Finance schemes.
  • Financing of feasibility studies, technical assistance, engineering and consultancy.

For more information, interested parties can contact the Commercial Office of the Spanish Embassy in São Paulo.

Likewise, our project finance team is available for any support needed.
